Epitaph for a Mariner Lyrics

Part 1 - Sailor's Hymn (Instrumental)

Part 2 - Siren's Song (Instrumental)
Part 3 - Maelstrom.

A storm is raging outside,
like the one inside my head.
I know the baby's on its way,
as my wife lays on the bed.
And those friends I'd give my life for
are fighting for their own.
The sea's no friend to man

I hold onto my baby girl,
this miracle of life.
With tears of joy and sadness,
I smile down at my wife.
But she knows what I'm thinking,
Bout my friends fighting the storm.
But the sea's no friend to man.

Part 4 - Ode to William Pull.

Sea waves the never-ending tides.
This fragile planet's heartbeat,
against a fading shore.
By dreams we live, we seek, we strive.
For truth and love and so much more.
We fear death's vale, set for all eternity.
The power of Mother Nature.
Mere mortals, such are we.
My time, our time.
So short to conquer all our fears.
In the blinking of a child's eye.
An ocean full of tears.
And through our hands slip grains of sand,
A cosmic hour-glass.
Death doesn't lie. We live to die.
Lost in a seagull's mournful cry.
Drifting on this ocean of storms.
Darkness, drawing over me.
This player leaves the play
lost beneath the waves.
I'm falling.
Falling, falling, falling, falling.
Down.
Part 5 - Epitaph.

The sun. Burns cold. Beneath the dying skin.
Dark thoughts. Stream through.
Scream out from deep within.
This life. My life. Cut short relieve my sins.
Past loves. Past tears. Caressed by angel's wings
Drifting on the waves of passion.
[Rise like the wind, fall like a star.]
No bed of roses where you lie.
[Nor through this life my life.]
Spring flowers weep beneath the drizzling clouds.
We bow our heads in shame.
No tears must fall for me.

The hope.Denied. Forever lost at sea.
This end. This night. Drawn down to depths unseen.
So still. The soul. Upon my final quest.
So young. The old. This jewel of life we hold.

Drifting on the waves of passion.
[Rise like the wind, fall like a star.]
No bed of roses where you lie.
[Nor through this life my life.]
Spring flowers weep beneath the drizzling clouds.
We bow our heads in shame.
No tears must fall for me.
No tears must fall for me.
