Concerning Lessons Learned From the Aliens Lyrics

I saw the lights over my bed.
They took me up into their ship.
They taught me how to live
by keeping to myself,
and never talk to strangers.
They wrote down all the words
they wanted me to say,
and published all their thoughts
disguised as different names.
Some books they sent from Denmark,
and a couple came from France.
I took to memorizing.

So now I stay inside
and I don't talk to strangers.
I consider all the small things
from every smallest angle.

I only asked you out
because I thought that you'd say yes,
then ignore all of my phone calls.
It's worked out so far.
