Bringing You Down Lyrics

Chewed up and spit out.
Lost and alone.
Your job's been ripped from you and on deck, your home.
Can't feed yourself, let alone feed the kids.
American dreams have turned to your American greed.
Their fingers are crossed while they smile and promise.
The wrong side of broke while our gold lines their pockets.
On the priority list we place dead last, and their foreclosed signs line our "greener grass."
Look me in my eyes you crooked f***.
Not one more god d*** lie.
Your time is up.
The rage that builds in us is bringing you down.
Watch the weight of it all come crashing down.
United, now the kings will lose their crown.

Now we're s*** out of luck and they don't give a f***.

Now the masses awaken.
The embodiment of sacrifice.
History in the making.
Witness defining moments of our lives.
*A message from Stick To Your Guns*

It's hard to sum up all the complexities of what is going on with the occupy wall street movement into a song, or into just a slew of words and clever rhymes. I believe that some people are trying to take this beautiful uprising filled with a lot of different colors and make it black and white. That's the last thing we (STYG) wanted to do. With this song, we are showing our support to the mass movement taking place all over the world. This is an amazing time to be alive. It makes me proud to be an American. This is a time where we are finally standing up for ourselves and demanding that the people who are single handedly ruining this country, and it's economy, to answer for the evil that they have done. I understand that there are a lot of younger people out there who look at this and say to themselves, "I don't see how this is affecting me?". The fact of the matter is, it is affecting you. Our mothers and fathers are being ripped from their homes. They are having their jobs taken away from them. This is a time to stand for what is right and to show that integrity and a mutual respect for each other will reign supreme over all of this bullshit that these f*** heads have fed to us and our families for so long. I don't believe that there is one simple solution to this whole thing. However, I do believe that if my generation, the future of wall street and American government, uses their hearts as well as their minds and treats all the people of the world with a mutual respect and common decency, that this world will flourish.

Please, we need to kill not just corporate greed, but the greed in all of us. All the money for this song will be donated to the Occupy Wall Street movement. Do your part.

"And yes, I recognize the irony that the very system I oppose affords me the luxury of biting the hand that feeds. But that's exactly why privileged f**** like me should feel obliged to whine and kick and scream until everyone has everything they need." - Propagandhi
