Hide and Seek Lyrics

What I didn't like about him
Was the way he smelled
Or the clothes his mother made him wear
Or his stupid curly hair
Or that mistake that he made on his first school day
From that day on
His unpopularity was unremittingly relentless
For him school became the armpit of the universe

We were never friends
So when he invited me to his birthday
I thought his parents were probably behind this invitation
Forcing him to invite the whole classroom
We played hide and seek!
And even though this was his own party
We declared that the rules clearly stated
That he was ineligible for the game
He carried on without listening to a word

So there was some justice when he fell down the hole
Into which he had been lured
He banged his head
He also twisted his ankle which must've really hurt
My mum and dad had a few harsh words to say about that!
I suppose you could say it was some kind of man-trap
The hole, covered by ferns...

When I think about it now
I realise I was just lost in a game
I could see that I was lost in a game
We played hide and seek
And one could see that I was lost in a game
I was lost in a game
